Picture details Last modified: 2021-12-14 19:08:10 The bell Sigismund from 1549 from the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert at Prague Castle was made by the bell-ringer Tomáš Jaroš from Brno in Prague. It is the largest Czech bell with a lower diameter of 256 cm, a height of 203 cm and an estimated weight of 16.5 tons [1] (eg, the Czech bell ringer Petr Rudolf Manoušek estimates the weight at 13 to 14 tons [2]). The bell is richly decorated, some elements of decoration occurred in Zikmund for the first time in the Czech environment. The bell rings by hand, like all the bells in the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert, which hang in the same tower and ring regularly every Sunday. It is a gift from my niece Adela Clipa. |
