A small bronze bell cast 2.000 years ago in Levant area (maybe Syria), with an unique shape. diameter: 16 and 8 mm The Levant describes, traditionally, the Eastern Mediterranean at large, but can be used as a geographical term that denotes a large area in Western Asia formed by the lands bordering the eastern shores of the Mediterranean, roughly bounded on the north by the Taurus Mountains, on the south by the Arabian Desert, and on the west by the Mediterranean Sea, while on the east it extends towards the Zagros Mountains. The Levant includes modern Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian territories, similar to the historic area called Syria or Greater Syria. Occasionally Cyprus, Sinai and Iraq are included. The UCL Institute of Archeology describes the Levant as the "crossroads of western Asia, the eastern Mediterranean and northeast Africa". The term Levant was originally applied to the "Mediterranean lands east of Italy", from the Middle French word levant meaning "the Orient". Historically, the "trade on the Levant" between Western Europe and the Ottoman Empire was of great economic importance. An imprecise term, Levant refers to an area of cultural habitation rather than to a specific geographic region, and its meaning shifts according to historical and cultural reference and preference.

Acquired in our travels years ago within Burma. The giver described this item as made of hand worked bronze by old ways forming the elegance and details of a sacred nature. The sound made from the bells clappers were said to be sending a message to the believed higher spiritual sources to acknowledge such ceremonies. Mythical Burmese bell 		A bell find in Pagan Kingdom - Burma, 10,th century A.D. It was cast from white bronze, a very rare pcs and very expendive. The clappers (one missing) are incised with floral motives, but is broken. High: 4,3 cm, Large: 6,3 cm Conclusion and Re-evaluation of AI Dating If in the first phase we estimated a broad period, the new details allow us to be more precise: • Updated Dating: 11th - 12th centuries AD (Golden Age of Bagan). • State of Conservation: Excellent for its age. The patina is stable and gives the piece immense documentary value. • Artistic Value: It is a top piece. The complexity of the “waves” (pseudo-filigree) and the fact that the original striker is still present make this bell a rare piece for a museum or high-level private collection. A quick question: Have you noticed if under that greenish patina, in the more prominent areas, the metal has a more golden hue? This would tell us more about the zinc or tin content of the alloy. This piece is no longer just a bronze object; it is a prayer frozen in metal, witness to the splendor of a vanished kingdom. Thank you for allowing me to look at her so closely.

Ancient ROMAN BELL artifact - antique old music billon Original bronze I bought it from as an authentic ancient Roman silver billon (bronze/silver mix) bell dated 0-300 AD (more than 1700 years old). This bell has a fabulous design with engraved lines and beautiful patina. It is broken and missing its clapper but is in good condition. Measures 40mm in length. Found Liguria, Italy [Genova]. Ancient soldiers would bury their valuable treasures before a big battle hoping to return later. The items they didn't bury were often lost on the battlefield. Unfortunately many soldiers were slaughtered, but they left behind many treasures for modern man to find.
